Moz Flag Mozambique Missions Trip 2008 Moz Flag

Taking the Gospel to Mozambique!

Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness Is great toward us, and the truth of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD!
~Psalm 117~

What is it?

From August 8th to the 22nd 2008, nine members from BBC will be on a missions trip to Mozambique Africa as a ministry of teaching and witnessing to a Shangaan tribe. This tribe of people lives in the bushes of Southern Mozambique. In conjunction with Samaria Missions based in South Africa, the BBC team will be teaching from a chronological view of the Bible. They will be the first team to visit this village and will be teaching the first fifteen Bible based lessons to men, women and children covering Genesis 1-11. The BBC team will also present the Gospel through one-on-one and in the preaching of God's Word at evening gatherings.

What if I'm not going, can I do something?

Financial Support

We are continuing to raise financial support so that the church can send this team of people out to share the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If you would like to help in supporting this effort, please feel free to include a donation in your regular church giving envelope, or by placing any pocket change in the designated coin box located near the entrance of the auditorium.
Part of the money we are raising is going toward purchasing 40 Bibles for the families in the village in their language. They are $8 each.

Prayer Support

Please keep this BBC missions team in prayer for the following:

  • That the Lord will equip them to go and boldly proclaim the truth to a people who have not heard the Gospel
  • That many will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and that God will be glorified Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
  • Travel details and safety.
  • Energy and health to effectively serve.

The Team’s Preparation:

The M-Team (as the team is called) will each teach several lessons in Mozambique and have been practicing teaching them to the Sunday School classes at BBC periodically this summer. Saturday afternoons they meet at the Worcester Common (see below for images) from 4-6 PM and teach one or two lessons, share their testimonies and do some evangelism as they prepare to go and do the same in Mozambique.

Please come out and join them – listen to them practice the lessons they will be teaching in Mozambique and help hand out tracks. They meet at the Worcester Public Library parking lot at 4PM. If they are not teaching on a Sunday morning, they are meeting to discuss the lessons, talk about travel details, fundraising, and praying as a team for each other and for the people they will be teaching.

Check out the BBC missions bulletin board for recent updates and news!

WHAT'S NEW?

The M-Team was evangelizing at the Worcester Common from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday May 24th, as they prepare to go and do the same in Mozambique . This is the first of several more weeks ahead where the M-Team will be evangelizing both at the Worcester Common and soon in the Boston Common as well.

The afternoon began with Barry Aloisi teaching with passion on Creation - Day 3-6. John Maciorowski is seen here reading the Bible verses during Barry’s teaching.

The listeners were mostly the M-Team (who were giving tracts to passer-bys and one intrepid individual).

John Maciorowski gave a moving testimony to God saving him from a life of mere religion that does not save to a life transforming faith in Christ.

Lillian Ho taught the next lesson: Creation of man - even a swerving cyclist could not throw Lillian off as she taught the lesson on God’s goodness to us.

Simon Beckwith was tireless in entreating with many to listen to the teaching and is seen here witnessing to two men about Jesus Christ.

Personal evangelism ended the day as the M-Team went in pairs

The weather changed from windy to chill and nice - the Lord held back the rain clouds for His Word to be ministered in the Common.
